On Wednesday 11 October 2017, the scholarly elder and learned custodian of the renowned spiritual Khanqah of Ajmer Sharif, India, namely Shaykh Allama Sayyid Muhammad Mahdi Mian Chishti, visited Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada at Jamia Al-Karam. Ajmer Sharif is home to the resting place and landmark mausoleum of the early 13th century Sufi scholar and leader, and torchbearer of Islam in the Indian subcontinent, Hazrat Khwaja Mu’in al-Din Chishti (ra).
Shaykh Sayyid Mahdi Mian was accompanied by his son, Syed Mohammed Azhar Chishty, Shaykh Umar Hayat Qadri and Allama Raja Sajid Mahmood Zia.
During his visit, Shaykh Sayyid Mahdi Mian met the students of Jamia Al-Karam, bestowed the blessings of Ijaza from Ajmer Sharif to Shaykh Pirzada, and toured the campus. He reflected on the blessed meeting with Shaykh Pirzada in India at Delhi and Ajmer Sharif, and he also commented on his study of Shaykh Pirzada’s Qur’an commentary, the Tafsir Imdad-ul-Karam, which he has enjoyed finding it to be scholarly, concise and relevant to the contemporary age.
