Shaykh Pirzada hosts discussion with Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi, Shaykh Faisal Abdur-Razak and other religious leaders

On Thursday 25 August 2016, the prominent and influential Syrian scholar, Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi, visited Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada at Jamia Al-Karam. Other Imams and scholars from the UK and abroad were also in attendance including the respectable Shaykh Faisal Hamid Abdur-Razak (Canada), Shaykh Syed Muhammad Zafarullah Shah (Hazrat Sultan Bahu Trust, Birmingam), Shaykh Umar Hayat Qadri (Suffah Foundation, Huddersfield), Allama Masood Alam Khan (Islamic Help, Birmingham), Shaykh Muhammad Yasin (Birmingham), Mufti Wajid Iqbal (Bradford), as well as the respectable staff and teachers of Jamia Al-Karam.

During the visit, the guests were warmly welcomed at Jamia Al-Karam, and both Shaykh al-Yaqoubi and Shaykh Pirzada were pleased to meet one another as it had been a number of years since they last met. A discussion on a variety of themes and contemporary religious matters ensued with the group of scholars and Imams who were present. Shaykh al-Yaqoubi gifted some of his recent written works to Shaykh Pirzada including his latest book titled ‘Refuting ISIS’, and Shaykh Pirzada presented his work on Islam and moderation titled ‘ISIS: State of Ignorance’. The scholars present commented on the importance of both these works for Muslims and non-Muslims, especially the youth.

Following dinner, Shaykh Pirzada led Shaykh al-Yaqoubi and the guests on a tour of the under-construction building for the girls school, where work is underway. Shaykh Pirzada led the guests to the room which has been sponsored by Shaykh al-Yaqoubi. At the Gateway to Divine Mercy 2013 conference held at the LG Arena in Birmingham, Shaykh al-Yaqoubi led the appeal for funds for the girls school building project and announced the sponsorship of one room from himself. He was pleased to see the progress of the works and offered prayers for continued success and completion. He further prayed for the success of the endeavours of Shaykh Pirzada and the projects of Jamia Al-Karam before departing and continuing on his brief UK tour.
