On 14 May 2017, the Annual Graduates Summit was held at Jamia Al-Karam attended by many graduates from both the brothers and the sisters colleges of the institution. The summit was presided by the Founder and Principal of Jamia Al-Karam, Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada, and coordinated by the Vice-Principal, Bakhtyar Pirzada al-Azhari.
The day was split into various sessions beginning with a collective opening assembly in the mosque hall where the Principal and the Vice-Principal delivered their opening speeches covering a variety of topics and agenda setting issues. Attendees were briefed on the current works of Jamia Al-Karam; the Al-Azhar International Peace Conference held in Cairo with the Grand Imam and Shaykh of al-Azhar and Pope Francis of the Vatican; the recent Zakat and Religious Knowledge Declaration issued by 313 UK Imams and scholars; the General Election #MyFaithMyVote campaign; and a number of other topics.
This assembly was followed by a barbecue lunch outside on the picturesque grounds of Jamia Al-Karam. Shaykh Pirzada accompanied by his noble wife then held a discussion with graduates and members of the sisters college on the White House Lawn.
Later during the day, a meeting took place in the Al-Azhar Conference Room particularly focussing on the wider issues concerning the British Muslim community, Imams and mosques around the country. The sessions were productive and meaningful with members having a wide variety of experiences working in different sectors of the mosque and Muslim communities across the UK, and for being from different generations with graduates of Jamia Al-Karam from 1988 to 2016 in attendance.
Jamia Al-Karam offers its prayers and best wishes to all its graduates as they continue to #LearnAndServe.
